Trauma and Somatic Healing

Many relationship and sexual difficulties are influenced by stress or trauma stored within the body. Marizanne integrates somatic approaches such as Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) to support nervous system regulation and trauma recovery.

Materials or aids in between sessions

  • You will be offered personalised exercises or materials that align with your current focus and capacity to support the work done in session. Aim: To support understanding of relational dynamics, emotional regulation, trauma responses, and patterns that influence intimacy and connection.
  • Where clinically relevant, coordination with medical care may be suggested, including laboratory investigations, as part of an integrated treatment approach.
  • This process is grounded in partnership, emphasising shared engagement and active participation in support of long-term well-being

Sexuality, intimacy, and relationships are deeply connected to our emotional wellbeing and life experiences. Marizanne works with individuals and couples using a holistic bio-psycho-social approach, recognising that personal history, stress, culture, and identity all shape how we experience connection and sexuality.

Her work focuses on helping clients navigate relational challenges, life transitions, and sexual health concerns with compassion, clarity, and practical guidance. Marizanne provides a safe and supportive therapeutic space where sensitive topics can be explored openly and without judgement.

By integrating clinical sexology, trauma-informed counselling, and somatic techniques, she supports clients in rebuilding emotional safety, improving communication, and developing healthier patterns of intimacy and connection.
